Product Description

This is a marvelous example of a true vintage Guayabera shirt. Dating to the 1970's from Guaya-teca Alta Calidad, it is finely made with great attention to detail. Guayeberas, otherwise known as Mexican Wedding shirts, were originally made for carrying guavas as the Cuban legend goes. This particular shirt is done in a traditional pale pastel yellow. The alforzas, or vertical pleats, on the front and back are done in groups of 10 and add a dash of elegance to the shirt. This pleating is carried across the tops of the large patch pockets. This shirt also has intricate embroidery on the front done in an even paler yellow for a nice contrast. It is short sleeves and has matching yellow buttons done the front. There are also "adjusting buttons" at the sides for accent. The fabric is 80% polyester and 20% cotton and the shirt was made in Mexico. It is in excellent condition and a wonderful ethnic shirt made with exquisite care.
